Online modelling requires a lot of the model

I’m sure everyone will agree that Amelia was wonderful last night. She was responsible for developing nearly all the poses. In case anyone thought it was me being particularly cruel! Some of the shorter poses required a particular form of athleticism.
We are discovering. Online modelling requires a lot of the model, they have to monitor the framing of the image, as well as being the image. It’s a bit like being a model and photographer.

Wednesday 3rd June

Amelia was one of our first online models, in the days when we were getting used to the idea of online. She is one of the models that has now taken Online Life Drawing to another level, with views that are impossible in a conventional drawing class. This will be excellent!

On occasion the link has to be copied and entered as a URL (on the top line of your Web Browser)

Insisting on registration and payment, provides a level of security for the model and against Zoombombing and other intrusions.

We pay the model, zoom and Paypal charges, but keep the cost as low as feasible, £4.40 before Monday lunchtime and £5 afterwards.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining Online Life Drawing Live.

You can Login anytime from 07:00 PM, and advise doing so before drawing begins 7:30. That way we can sort out any issues without interrupting the class.

The class starts with some very quick poses, to enable the attendees and the audience to acclimatise. The first half is a series of 10 to 15mins poses. There will be a break about half way through, then our longest pose 20mins. The class will finish at 9:30 and some poses will be developed ad-hoc.

All times are UK, adjust to local, eg San Francisco it starts at 11am

Opera !

Mariangela was our model this week from her apartment in Rome. It provided the perfect opportunity to play Latin music and of course Opera (how could you resist!). It has taken a while to become accustomed to using models from different parts of the world. But until models become accustomed to posing online (it is really different to conventional modelling) I am only happy using models I have already seen working. The only way I know to guarantee a professional approach!

Life Drawing from Rome !

We welcome Turris Eburnea an experienced female Life Drawing model from her apartment in Rome! As with all online models, I only select ones I know are really professional, and I have seen working online before. Satisfaction guaranteed! On Wednesday 27th May @ 7pm.

Different and Complementary!

When I first started this Online venture, I saw it as an inferior replacement for conventional Life Classes. Now I am not so sure, Dominique structures poses that cannot be achieved in a conventional class. So now my thinking is it is not inferior at all! It is different and Complementary!

This Wednesday!

To join this event requires Zoom and Paypal

I saw Dominique Muse modelling a few weeks ago, it was the best online event I have attended, so I was really pleased when she agreed to model for our classes, on Wednesday 20th May @ 7pm. I am really looking forward to this one!

Last Night

Another great night with Marissa, we have worked together for over a decade. We have both produced Online sessions but not together. Marisa is a perfectionist and as we only had a small room to work in, it took quite some time to develop the poses. It was worth the time and effort!

This Wednesdays Class

Really pleased to announce this week’s Life Drawing class, after a week or two far afield it is great to welcome with the lovely Marissa, who is a neighbour and friend!

Moving Online has been a learning curve, for every drawing class in the world.
We have been impressed by positive comments, such as people appreciating not having to leave the home, being able to use unusual materials, and how it is easier to experiment.

Natural Light !

Another amazing evening. We experimented with natural light for the first time, which worked way better than expected. The final pose was especially challenging as the sun set and the model became darker and darker, there were some extra ordinary poses by Maria (link below)

I notice we have some attendees from the health service, if you or any of your colleagues, wish to attend the online classes, message me the Email address and there will be no charge.

Thanks to those that sent images, really appreciated

Moving Online has been a learning curve, for every drawing class in the world.

We are very aware that it is not the same as an actual live class with a physical model, but have been impressed by positive comments, such as people appreciating not having to leave the home, being able to use unusual materials, and how it is easier to experiment

We have decided to extend our Zoom and Paypal contracts for another month, so there will be at least another four classes. But you will note we have increased the fee by 40pence, as we were unaware of some admin costs when we started.

It is impossible to be organiser and audience, so if you have any thoughts on how we could improve let us know, believe me we will listen!!,
Incidentally the way we operate insisting on registration and payment, means we are much less susceptible to hacking, so safer for the attendees and the model!

You can Login anytime from 07:00 PM, and advice doing so before drawing begins 7:30. That way we can sort out any issues without interrupting the class.
The Model for this class is ‘What if We
Fly’ I have drawn her before she is excellent!

If you enjoy the class please share this post, and don’t forget to tell your friends, it is a good way to meet up!
