J.p.lynch@ntlworld.com

(to Friend not a Service!)

Mention the date you my wish to attend.

Starts at 7:30 arrive approx 15mins before.

The Edge is confident Life Drawing is one of the safest activities in the current climate.

Obviously there are some changes.

Bring your own materials if you can.
We can provide paper and other drawing materials, but there is always the risk of cross contamination.

We need to respect everybody else’s personal space.

The model in particular, should have a minimum of 2 meters at all times.

But you can still talk to other class members, and it will still be as convivial as we can make it.

If you cannot attend we need at least 24hours notice.

If you have any questions or concerns, just get in touch, by Email to J.p.lynch@ntlworld.com

Great class with Adam

Despite me calling our wonderful model Adam, Andy for half the night the class ran wonderfully well. Embarrassing as I have known Adam for many years, and he is one of my favourite Male models! We still expect to run the class next week, though the café will not be open, due to obvious restrictions. The class is already close to capacity, so unless you have already booked there is little chance of attending 😦

Life Drawing Live!

Online Drawing Class with Spin Spin Sophie!  Wednesday 15th July

This promises to be special, and to accommodate Sophie’s skills we are extending the class from 2hours, to two and a half hours. Starting off with a series of fast energetic poses (gesture drawings), before finishing with more sedate poses. This will really test your creativity!

Spin Spin Sophie is a training contortionist and performance artist from Edinburgh.

Sophie says: “As an artist who’s sole form of expression is movement, I was thrilled to discover the world of life modelling less than a year ago and have not looked back since. I love to challenge myself and the artist in creating twisted, bent, distorted shapes – prepare for some fast and interesting poses!”

Sophie will be heading to Portugal in September to begin her professional circus training at INAC Circus School (@inac.circusschool). You can follow her training on her Instagram profile: @spinspinsophie.

Advise watching a YouTube video on Gesture Drawings, in advance!

All times are UK, adjust to local, eg San Francisco it starts at 11am

Online Life Drawing Live !

Online Drawing class, Wednesday 17th

Although she will not thank me for saying it, Dominique is an artist, she works tirelessly at developing the craft of Online Modelling. A new form that she is leading the game at. I was stunned at the level of professionalism she showed on our first encounter and really pleased she has agreed to return. Words like bizarre, dynamic and even weird spring to mind, and she may even be joined by a special guest!

PROMISE!

Last week was certainly a start to the New Year! There are always new people at the start of the New Year, so we expect a crowd, but it was compounded by the fact there was a Stage Set in the studio. This is normally a good thing, it provides variety for attendees, but it also takes up room. So last week was slightly crowded. And highly unusually, the model wanted all the heating turned off! As we consider the model the most important person in the room, we were obliged to turn heating off. So Charlotte was quite comfortable, and everybody else had to keep their coats on! It will be warmer this week PROMISE!

Dancing!

A night with a difference….. We had a dancer! And not just any old dancer…. Kitty…who is frequently one of our artists, is also a professional belly dancer, and was good enough to go through a routine…first as normal, then in slow motion, repeating small movements..
As far as I am aware this was a unique opportunity, and one not that easy to repeat….
But in typical fashion my SD card malfunctioned, and the one week when we could publish images of our model…the camera didn’t work.So no examples of peoples work either!.
So instead I have attached some of the sketches I made. This was from a ten minute routine, so each sketch took between one to two minutes…

Kitty is part of Manchester own Monster Cirque

https://www.facebook.com/monstercirque
And thanks again Kitty for this rare opportunity…..
